JOIN THE WILDFAM
Here's what to expect during your audition:
WARM UPS: We'll lead you through some simple up and down exercises to warm up your voice.
SWELLS: To see your range of volume, we will lead you through swells on a single, sustained note.
PITCH EXERCISES: To test your musical ear, we will play you several melodies and ask for you to repeat them back. We'll also play you several chords and ask you to listen for specific notes in the chord.
SOLO: Our favorite part of the audition! We will listen to the verse and chorus of a short solo that you've prepared for us. You can sing anything you'd like for this, so pick a solo you enjoy that showcases your voice!
BLENDING EXERCISE: To see how you'll sound as a Wildcat, we'll have you sing some final blending exercises with some members of the group.

If it seems like a good fit, we'll invite you to a two-hour callback session where we can get to know each other a bit more and hear how your voice blends with the group!

“To me, an audition for the Wildcats is so much more than just running scales and singing a song - it is a fun experience that gives you the opportunity to meet some of the most genuine and talented ladies on campus; it is a chance to see for yourself what you can contribute to their ensemble; it is an opportunity to put your best foot forward in a safe space that sees you as an individual with endless potential, not as a finished piece. When I walked into the Cat Cave for the first time, I was greeted by smiling faces who cared about how I was doing without knowing anything about me and saw my determination and willingness to work hard. The patience and understanding of the members really made me feel at ease and allowed me to truly enjoy my audition.”
